OVERVIEW

The Department of Home Science was founded in the college in the year 2006. .Home Science is that part of learning programme that, prepares the students for greatest of all vocations-Home Making. It helps the development of right values and appreciation. The department has its own space for class room -cum- laboratory, well equipped with as much as possible accessories required for smooth conduct of practical classes. The department has also started a Value Added Course in Embroidery and Handicraft with effect from session 2019-20.The Department also runs a Sewing Center to make the students self-dependent. Currently the department has initiated well organized discourse on nature and profile of Home Science by creating a fruitful dialogue among the specialists and stake-holders by providing platform for creating ambient atmosphere to study different branches of ancient and modern concepts of Home Science viz- Food and Nutrition, Textile Designing ,Extension Education, Human Development, Home Management etc..
