Prahari Club
Prahari Club was established in 2021 under the joint aegis of NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) and NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) to prevent children from minacious of drugs and substance abuse. It was formulated to streamline and strategies the efforts made by various authorities, institutions, agencies to bring paradigm shifts in the direction of drugs and substance abuse prevention amongst the youth in the country. Moreover, it is a framework to wean away youth from drug abuse and to stop selling of drugs in surrounding areas of schools and many other educational and child care institutions through convergent actions in a time-bound manner. It also adopts some of the strategic interventions to prevent the reach of pharmaceutical drugs, substances and other forms of goods used as intoxicants by the youngsters.
In our college, Ismail National Mahila PG College Meerut, Prahari Club was established in session 2022-23 under the direction of principal Prof. Anita Rathi with the aim to educate the youth about the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol, cigarettes and other intoxicating substances and keep them away from it by organizing awareness campaigns around them. Along with this, it also committed to the vision that Students must try to make themselves as well as their home, neighborhood and college campus drug free. Prahari Club organizes various programs in the college and the surrounding areas to make people aware of drug-addiction. This Club consists some volunteers (Praharis) dedicatedly committed to the slogan ‘Ek Yuddha Nashe ke Viruddha’. The club also associates with the NSS units and other units of the college to achieve this goal by conducting several activities. Along with this the faculty members and staff of the college gave their full cooperation.
